FLAIR Equine Nasal Strips are clinically proven to make breathing easier by gently supporting the horse’s nasal passages. When horses breathe hard, the soft tissues overlying the nasal passages are sucked in, reducing the airway diameter. This reduction in diameter causes greater resistance to airflow into the lungs. The Strips reduce the effort needed to move air in and out of the lungs.
Developed by veterinarians, the proprietary adhesive and shape memory supports provide gentle support to the nasal passages to improve airflow to the lungs, reduce fatigue, conserve energy, quicken recovery and reduce lung bleeding. Eight clinical studies have been done at leading research institutions.
Science aside, here is why some of our favorite riders use FLAIR Strips:
Seven-Time NFR Qualifier Stevi Hillman
Growing up in Ordway, Colorado, Stevi Hillman began riding when she was a baby. In 2022, Stevi qualified for her seventh consecutive NFR. In addition, she won the Red Bluff Roundup for the second time and won the Sheridan Wyoming rodeo for the first time. Stevi plans to attend around 60-80 rodeos this year, including returning to the Calgary Stampede.
“In barrel racing, hundredths of a second separate winning and not winning a check. I want to give my horse every advantage possible to finish its run strong and to recover as quickly and efficiently as possible. I know FLAIR Strips are helpful and that’s why I choose to use them,” Stevi said.

Collegiate Athlete Taya Moeykens
2021 Montana Women’s Professional Rodeo Association Rookie of the Year and two-time Montana Circuit Finals Qualifier Tayla Moeykens is wrapping up her second year at Montana State University with much success as a Bobcat athlete: 2021 National Intercollegiate Champion, Big Sky Region Champion, College National Finals Rodeo qualifier. Growing up in Three Forks, Montana, she fell in love with barrel racing at a very young age. She was walking barrels by herself at age 3.
“My family and I have been using FLAIR Strips for many years and we love the benefits they provide for our horses” shares Tayla. “We first started using them on my mom’s pro rodeo horse when he was 9. He is now 23 and still running in the 2D. I also use them on my breakaway horse, and they help to calm her in the box. She’ll never back in the box without one on her nose. We see the same benefits with all our horses, and we never make a run without one. FLAIR Strips are one of the essentials we pack when leaving the house.”

Youth Barrel Racer Rori Fenner
Rori Fenner is 11 years old and competes in the same events alongside her older sister, Rhea. In addition to competing in barrels, pole bending, team roping, breakaway, ribbon roping, goat tying and trail course, she also loves to trick ride and go fast. Rori has loads of fun when she competes but also knows that it takes many, many hours outside of the arena to be successful. At events, she’s all business and focuses hard on her runs. She hopes to make it to the American.
“My mom noticed that our horses were breathing pretty heavy when they would finish a run. We started paying more attention to that, so we tried a FLAIR Strip, and the difference was instantly noticeable! Our time was faster and when we came out of the gate, my horse wasn’t huffing and puffing anymore. We were very excited and have used them ever since,” Rori said.
“FLAIR Strips have truly changed our thoughts and approach to running our horses,” says Ann-Marie Fenner, Rori’s mother. “They can’t stride out and give it their all if they are struggling to take powerful breaths.”

Breathe easy…
FLAIR Strips reduce the effort needed to move air in and out of the lungs, resulting in less stress on the body during exercise and a faster recovery after exercise. Help protect your horse and perform your best during training and competition by breathing easier with FLAIR Strips.
