He had 180 barrel performers earn $953,905 for an average of $5,299 per horse.
Of Dash Ta Fame’s 180 barrel horses, 39 percent earned money as futurity horses in 2007. Those 71 futurity horses earned $641,407, or 67 percent, of Dash Ta Fame’s total offspring earnings. Even more telling is the fact that Dash Ta Fame’s get accounts for 8 percent of the futurity horses that competed in 2007 and they earned 22 percent of the futurity sector’s $2.9 million purse.

The age breakdown the Dash Ta Fame futurity horses that ran last year is 40 4-year-olds (56 percent), 16 5-year-olds (23 percent) and 15 3-year-olds (21 percent). A look at American Quarter Horse Association records shows that Dash Ta Fame had 173 foals in 2003, 118 in 2002 and 147 in 2004, thus the percent of barrel futurity money earners per crop is 23 percent in 2003, 14 percent in 2002 and 10 percent in 2004. It should be noted that the 3-year-olds only ran in the month of December.

Industry wide, Dash Ta Fame’s get accounted for 3 percent of money earning barrel horses and those horses won seven percent of barrel racing industry’s $13.9 million total purse.

Old Fort Days Futurity Champion LA Fame, out of LA Cassia, by Lucky Aces N Eights, was his leading offspring with $87,943. Her full sister, Lady La Dash, is also among his top offspring, earning $15,626 as a 3-year-old.

Twist Ta Fame, out of JA Running Twister, by Runaway Winner, was Dash Ta Fame’s leading 3-year-old futurity horse with $39,746. His leading 5-year-old futurity horse was Fames Licorice Kiss, out of Bouncing Bonnie, by Shawne Bug. Fames Licorice Kiss earned $19,479.

Famous Beda B Me, out of Beda B Fast, by Beda Cheng, was his leading older (non-futurity eligible) horse. The 2003 gelding ran out $17,170.
Dash Ta Fame also ranks tenth as a leading broodmare sire with 22 maternal grandget earning $92,687.

Of the top 25 stallions, 14 are still standing to the public—Dash Ta Fame; Frenchmans Guy,  age 21; Dash For Perks, 21; Bully Bullion, 21; Dashin Is Easy, 13; Special Elan, 21; Confederate Leader, 15; Judge Cash, 21; Alive N Firen, 15; Smoke N Sparks, 16; JA Runaway, 13; Rene Dan Jet, 18; Reckless Dash, 21, and Proudest Effort, 24. All the remaining sires are deceased, pensioned or no longer standing to the public.

Seven of the top stallions were money earners during their respective barrel racing careers—Fire Water Flit, Frenchmans Guy, Confederate Leader, Dr Nick Bar, Alive N Firen, Nonstop Bubblin and Rene Dan Jet.

Fire Water Flit, Dash For Perks and Jet Of Honor are each joined by a son on the leading sires list. They are, respectively, Alive N Firen, Smoke N Sparks and Rene Dan Jet.

Dash For Cash sired three stallions on the list—Cash Not Credit, Judge Cash and Reckless Dash. His son First Down Dash also sired two—Dash Ta Fame and Leaving Memories. Flit Bar sired two—Fire Water Flit and Dr Nick Bar. Special Effort also sired two—Special Elan and Proudest Effort.
