March 17, 2020 —– The coronavirus continues to shape the spring season for barrel racers, rodeo competitors and the Western industry as a whole.
As the coronavirus spreads, several of the Western performance horse industry’s major events are being postponed or canceled in an effort to contain the coronavirus in the United States and abroad.
An outbreak of COVID-19, a respiratory disease caused by a novel coronavirus named SARS-CoV-2, began in Wuhan, China, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. It was declared a pandemic on March 11 by the World Health Organization.
The following events have announced cancellations or postponements.
