Danyelle Campbell and Repete Fame topped the 91-entry first round of the Charmayne James Barrel Race at the South Point Equestrian Center with a run of 15.278, to earn a $2,500 payday. Rachel Primm placed second with a 15.348 worth $2,000 that she posted aboard Proud Red Pepper. Lita Scott and Richard scored the third and final paying spot of the long go round with a run of 15.376 worth $1,500.
Scott and Richard, along with her other mount, Jettin On Jewels, lead the Two-Horse Average race, with a combined first-round time of 31.018.
The top 27 teams will run in the championship round on Friday, with a two-run average combining their first round and championship round times determining the Charmayne James Barrel Race champions. The remaining teams will compete in a one-run consolation round.
