March 4, 2021 — Fort Worth, Texas — The field is set for RFD-TV’s The American and includes the top 10 of the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association from the 2020 year-end standings, two Exemption Invitees, and the top 10 $1 million-eligible qualifiers who fought through the Semifinals to punch their ticket to AT&T Stadium.
Multiple world champions, $1 million riders, futurity standouts and youth up-and-comers are all slated to compete inside AT&T Stadium for $1 million dreams. The WPRA Invitees will each compete for $100,000, while the qualifiers will fight for the $100,000 plus a portion of the $1 million bonus up for grabs to all qualifiers of the event across all disciplines.
Among the list there are 13 National Finals Rodeo qualifiers (the WPRA 11 invited, plus qualifiers Cayla Small and Kassie Mowry), two WPRA world champions (Hailey Kinsel and Brittany Tonozzi), two Barrel Futurities of America world champions (Brandon Cullins and Kassie Mowry) and three RFD-TV’s The American champions (Hailey Kinsel, Lisa Lockhart and Stevi Hillman). There are 10 first-time American attendees—three of those are invitees and seven of those are qualifiers.
For the first time in The American Rodeo history, a barrel racer has qualified in the top 10 on two different horses and will have the opportunity to run twice inside AT&T Stadium. Kassie Mowry, who finished fifth and sixth overall in the Semifinals, will compete at AT&T Stadium on her two horses, the Kristen Williams-owned Epic Guy and Mowry’s own gelding CP He Will Be Epic.
