Hunter credited her husband, Fred, for helping to fix Fuzz’s recent problems of straightening out too much heading into the second barrel after the first round.
“He did a good job,” Hunter said of Fuzz’s run. “Tonight, he pulled a shoe on the third barrel. He normally doesn’t bow off [the third barrel], and I thought ‘Why is he bowing off,’ but I was proud. I was glad he clocked what he did.”
The top eight performers in the average will return to compete in the finals Sunday afternoon.
