“I don’t have huge expectations to go out there and break arena records or things like that, but I know that if I go out there and ride him right, he’s going to do the same thing, run within a tenth or two of himself every time. I think it’s just his consistency and knowing that he can do it ten rounds here; if I just ride him right, he’s going to do it,” she said of An Oakie With Cash, the 9-year-old buckskin gelding known affectionately as “Louie.”
Her second go-round win of the finals is a little sweeter than the first, as her kids will share the stage with her tonight at the buckle ceremony hosted by South Point Casino and Hotel. 
Sherry Cervi is one go-round check away from making history as the fifth barrel racer to earn a check in all 10 rounds. If she clocks a 14.26 or better tomorrow night, she will break the NFR average record of 138.26 that was set by Jill Moody in 2010. She is on track for a fourth world championship, but her closest threat, reigning world champ Mary Walker is not giving up her title without a fight. Walker cashed a second-place check tonight on Perculatin (“Latte”) with their time of 13.82 seconds while Cervi’s 13.89 split third place with Trula Churchill. Jane Melby cruised to a fourth-place finish on First Down Perk (“Perkulees”) with a 13.95, and Shada Brazile and Dial It Fast stayed solid in the average with their 13.98 for sixth place.
