“Everything felt good but my horse felt like she got a bit short at the first barrel,” said Taylor of the winning run. “I’m pretty good at judging the time during my run and it didn’t feel like it was that fast. I was pushing hard coming home and looked up and saw my dad give me the thumbs up so I thought I must have done something right.”

The 6-time NFR qualifier rode both Babyflo’s sire, Dr Nick Bar, and dam, Flowers And Money, to NFR qualifications in her youth. While she may be small of stature, Babyflo is large on heart having been named the 2013 AQHA/WPRA Horse of the Year.2_Fallon_Taylor---BHN_2

“I am completely stoked. I’m shooting for 5th every night and I’ll keep doing so and if the runs land me in first place that will be just fine with me. I couldn’t be happier,” said Taylor of her strategy for rodeo’s main event.

Of her colorful outfit, Taylor had this to say: “Tie dye is my signature. I am not sure what the outfit for tomorrow night is just yet. I’ll just have to open the closet and see what jumps out at me each night.”

No. 1 ranked Kaley Bass finished eighth and two spots out of a paycheck with a solid time of 14.56 aboard Wonders Cowboy Dan. Don’t miss the February issue of Barrel Horse News to read in-depth coverage of all the great stories from the 2014 Wrangler NFR.
