Famous has an unmatched pedigree filled with racing greats and a dose of cow horse bloodlines. Out of Shegetscash, an own daughter of Peptoboonsmal, the 2020 red roan stallion boasts an even more distinguished maternal granddam. Corona Cash, by First Down Dash, is out of Corona Chick, an American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame dam and is a half-sibling to Corona Cartel, legendary sire with progeny earnings of more than $62.8 million.
“[Famous] is probably the most unique stallion prospect we have ever offered. His dam side is what really excites me about him. His mother is a daughter of Peptoboonsmal but his second dam was the great race mare Corona Cash. She won over $1.5 million on the track and has been a big-time producer,” said Melanie Smith, owner of Solo Select Horses LLC, located in Whitesboro, Texas.

In training with Quarter Horse News 2022 top 10 up-and-coming reining riders Dakin Allred, Famous is getting broke inside and outside the arena.
“This colt has been easy from Day One. I am always a little hesitant of these barrel colts being hot, but Famous has been kind and willing the whole time. This horse has a great mind and feels like he will take the heat when the time comes. We have spent a lot of time riding him outside and getting him broke. He is strong and athletic. I am excited to see his future in the winners circle,” Allred said.
