Job Description – Barrel Horse News Ambassador Program
The BHN Youth Ambassador program is a unique opportunity to gain experience creating digital content for the leading resource in the barrel racing industry. Youth ambassadors will work alongside our award-winning editorial staff to craft compelling content and fine-tune their skills in video, photography and copywriting.
Responsibilities Include:
- Craft original copy and creative to be used on BHN social media under the direction of the BHN editor
- Submit materials to BHN via email to post on social media accounts as well as barrelhorsenews.com during select barrel races and youth events.
- Serve as an ambassador for the BHN brand.
- Create content focused on what’s happening at the event, real-time results and recaps and also the surrounding activities and festivities held during the barrel race or youth event.
- Posts can include photos, videos/reels, written posts and social media stories. The number of posts per day will be outlined by assigning editor at Barrel Horse News.
Qualifications:
- Available to youth ages 15-19 competing at one or more of the following youth events:
- National Junior High Finals Rodeo
- National Little Britches Rodeo Association Finals
- International Finals Youth Rodeo
- National High School Finals Rodeo
- National Barrel Horse Association Youth and Teen World Championships
- Cinch Lazy E World Championship Junior Rodeo
- Superior attention to detail with strong writing, grammar and communication skills
- Have access to smartphone, internet and a computer
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and social platforms. Website familiarity a plus
- Exhibit confidence to approach winners and event staff and conduct professional interviews and take photos if needed.
- Must conduct oneself with professionalism and be in good standing with their youth rodeo organizations
Must have a respectful social media presence (while a social media presence is not a requirement, if the Ambassador does have social media, it must be respectful and hold up to BHN standards
This is an unpaid position.
