First held in Oklahoma City in 1985 after the National Finals Rodeo moved to Las Vegas, Nev., the annual BFA World Championships has established itself as the premier futurity competition in the nation, as well as expanding its competition opportunities to younger horses and more contestants. This year, the BFA will produce the $50,000 Futurity, $20,000 Elite Juvenile Futurity, $15,000 SUCCEED Derby, $10,000 Jud Little Ranch Amateur Final, $10,000 Victory Farms 4D and $1,500 Junior 4D. The $uper$takes Race will award $100,000 to the fastest untried, up-and-coming, 3-year-old horse.

Reflecting on this event’s history, great barrel racing horses have run down the alley at the BFA World Championships. Along with winning BFA Championships, many of these equine superstars have gone on to be champions at the NBHA, AQHA and NFR.

To celebrate these horses and their connections, the BFA encourages everyone attending this year’s event to bring photos to display on “The Wall of Memories.” On Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 7, from 4 to 6 p.m., contestants, families and friends are invited to host their own “alley parties.”  Bring snacks, refreshments, stories and memories to share with barn neighbors. The BFA wants to celebrate the championships, as well as the friendships, that have been established over 25 years.

Joining the BFA’s lineup of sponsors this year are Ariat and Weaver Leather. Ariat will be presenting a pair of boots to every champion at the BFA World Championships, totaling 29 pairs of boots. Weaver Leather will introduce its new, technologically advanced Airflex cinch at the BFA World Championships and will present this product to every champion.

The BFA World Championships continue to thrive with the loyal support of Elite Trailers, SUCCEED, Jud Little Ranch, Andis Clippers, Dr. Robbin Johnson, Dr. Brent Booze, Jarrett Guidry, Filly Tac, Valley Vet and WinningRuns.com,
