Bryan, TX ― With a million dollar winning rider perched atop one of the sport’s up and coming guelding, how could owners Lori and Dave Zabel go wrong? They couldn’t. World Champion Jolene Montgomery on JL Jamaican Me Rich wrapped up the Dufur Quarter Horses Futurity race Saturday night with a first place win worth $32,373.

FORT WORTH, Feb. 21, 2016 – PHOTOS BY KENNETH SPRINGER – On Sunday, almost 50 rising stars, semi-retired veterans and weekend warriors secured the opportunity to rope and ride for $1 million next weekend. Their entry into the world’s richest one-day rodeo on Feb. 28 was earned courtesy of their top finish at The American Semifinals Rodeo, held Feb. 17-21 at Cowtown Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas.

DuPerier and her equine partner, Rare Dillion, were rock solid through the 10 grueling go rounds to win not only the world title but the lucrative average crown as well. Their cumulative time of 140.41 seconds on 10 runs was worth $67,269.23, taking their total 2015 earnings to $303,846.25.

December 11, 2015 (Las Vegas, Nevada) – Round No. 9 of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo saw Jana Bean, Fort Hancock, Texas, make her first trip to the South Point Hotel and Casino for the Montana Silversmiths Gold Buckle presentation ceremony. First out on the ground, Bean teamed with Rick and Terri Ford’s Im A Royal Design (“Hammer”), for a time of 13.71 seconds worth 26,231 and the round win.
