Hailey Kinsel rode DM Sissy Hayday to the Round Seven win in 13.61 seconds at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo.
December 12, 2018 — Las Vegas — Hailey Kinsel rode DM Sissy Hayday to the Round Seven win in 13.61 seconds at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. This round win marks the Cotulla, Texas, pair’s third go-round buckle of the 2018 WNFR. The 7-year-old mare by PC Frenchmans Hayday and out of Royal Sissy Irish by Royal Shake Em has been performing in top form, picking up a total $120,212 at the WNFR alone. This year, the dynamic duo has been performing just as strong, and Kinsel says she’s been lucky enough to keep the mare sound, healthy and happy.
“I nicely had a good year, so I got to get off of her after Labor Day and give her an early break, so that was nice, because she was really fresh and strong coming into the early fall and I have just been conditioning her getting her ready to come here,” Kinsel said. “She feels great. My shoer and my vet have helped me a lot keeping her healthy. Legs are key—they are your wheels—so before and after she gets some linaments, some poultice, ice boots, stuff like that and lots of walking to make sure everything stays loose.”
With the victory, Kinsel cushions her lead in the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association world standings with $313,046. Amberleigh Moore and CP Dark Moon (Darkelly x SRQH New Highs x On A High) trail Kinsel and sit second in the world with a total $193,473. NFR first-timer Jessica Routier holds her top spot in the average with 96.52 on seven runs aboard Gary Westergren’s 7-year-old mare Fiery Miss West (Firewater Frenchman x Frenchmans Bo Dashus x Royal Quick Dash).
