Bailey’s on the Top Shelf: Top Shelf Breeders Race

Jordan Bailey and Classy Way Ta Fame claimed the top spot in both the Open and Futurity Averages.

The third annual Top Shelf Breeders Race in Fallon, Nevada featured some of the best horse and rider combinations that the West Coast has to offer. Kicking off with a Wine Welcome on Wednesday evening and wrapping with awards presentations on Saturday afternoon, it was an action-packed event from start to finish. Open competitors had over $50,000 added to run for, including the TSB sidepot and the 3D High Stakes race. Sidepots included Royal Crown, Diamond Classic and Future Fortunes. Additionally, the race included a qualifier for the American Rodeo Contender tournament, with the top three advancing to the West Regional Semi-Finals. The futurity and derby races each had $15,000 added money, plus awards. To further entice the futurity crowd, Thursday night offered a 2025 futurity hopefuls showcase.

Onalaska, Washington trainer Jordan Bailey and home-bred mare Classy Way Ta Fame clocked the fastest time of the weekend and won the Open on Friday with a 15.539, worth $1,648. The dominant duo won the TSB Futurity Average and the Open Average with a time of 31.294 on two runs, worth $1,121 and $1,397 respectively. Bailey was also third in the TSB Derby Average with a 31.742, earning $838 on PC Mari This Judge (Judge Cash x PC Mari Madisun x Sun Frost). On Saturday alone, Bailey pocketed $9,584 when she took second, third and fourth in the High Stakes Race, carrying over for third, fourth and fifth in the Open.
