Kassie Mowry and Force The Goodbye set the Fort Worth Stock Show Rodeo arena record en route to the 2026 FWSSR barrel racing championship.
The FWSSR kicked off January 23 inside Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, with the ProRodeo Tournament where the barrel racers of the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association battled it out for championship honors setting the arena record twice before the tournament-style rodeo came to its conclusion. It was two-time and reigning WPRA world champions Mowry and Force The Goodbye who brought the rodeo to its close in record fashion.
Mowry and “Jarvis” were the second-to-last duo to run down the alley way during Saturday’s shootout championship. They brought the sold-out crowd to its feet as they crossed the timer’s line in 16.04 seconds, setting the FWSSR arena record and winning the 2026 championship.
The previous record of 16.08 seconds was set first by Wenda Johnson and Macgyver Moonflash in 2022 and then matched earlier in this year’s competition by Carlee Otero and Cathys Kandy. Now, Mowry and Jarvis own the title.
Mowry, who lives in Dublin, Texas, earned $25,500 for her efforts throughout the entire tournament-style rodeo with $20,000 of that from the Championship run. This marked Mowry’s first Fort Worth championship and comes after she defended her WPRA world championship.
Mowry kicked off her time at the FWSSR in Bracket Seven. She and Jarvis topped Round One with a 16.16 followed by a 16.19 in Round Two to completely sweep their bracket and advance to the semifinals. They made their bid for the finals round in Semifinals A where they turned in a 16.50. That time tied for fourth place in that section of the Semifinals with Tricia Aldridge and Adios Pantalones. Mowry had earned more money throughout the brackets and therefore advanced to the finals as the tie-breaker between herself and Aldridge.
“I’m so lucky, Jarvis is such an amazing horse. We worked on our angles today and it really helped my pattern,” Mowry said in her in-arena interview concluding her winning run.
Force The Goodbye aka “Jarvis” won hearts during their first world title run at the 2024 NFR, but fans of barrel racing knew his talents long before his world champions status. Mowry and her late fiancé Michael Boone purchased Jarvis as a weanling from his breeder. He has gone on to win more than $1.8 million in EquiStat reported earnings.
