2026 Fort Worth Stock Show Rodeo Barrel Racing Updates

The Fort Worth Stock Show Rodeo kicked off January 23 inside Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, with the ProRodeo Tournament where the barrel racers of the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association will battle it out for championship honors. Follow along here for all the FWSSR barrel racing updates.

The first performance of the 2026 edition of the Fort Worth Stock Show Rodeo kicked off Friday night ahead of below freezing temperatures and freezing rain that were forecasted for after midnight.

The 16-day tournament features 56 competitors (56 teams in team roping) in each event, divided into seven brackets of eight. The field includes top-ranked rodeo athletes from the 2025 and early 2026 season along with the winners from six nearby 2025 rodeos – Waxahachie, Cleburne, Gladewater, Mineral Wells, Wichita Falls and Denton – and the winners from Thursday’s $100,000 FWSSR Rookie Rally.

Contestants in each bracket compete in two rounds of back-to-back action with the top two money earners in each event advancing to the semi-finals. The top four from each semi-finals move on to Championship Saturday, February 7.

The third highest money winner in each bracket advances to the wild card round along with the highest remaining money earner in each event after all brackets are completed. The top two in the wild card round also advance to the semifinals.

Emily Beisel Sweeps Bracket One

FORT WORTH, TEXAS (January 23, 2026)  — Rodeo fans who braved the weather were rewarded in the WPRA barrel race. Five of out of the eight runners had at least one Wrangler National Finals Rodeo appearance on their resumes. Fastest time of the night in Bracket One Round One went to Emily Beisel, of Weatherford, Oklahoma, with a 16.47 who gave the call to her ever faithful  16-year old gray gelding Chongo registered in the American Quarter Horse Association as Namgis D 33.

FORT WORTH, TEXAS (January 24, 2026) — Seven-time Wrangler NFR qualifier Emily Beisel, took a clean sweep of Bracket One at the FWSSR by winning the second round of her bracket aboard Ivory On Fire with a time of 16.39. Beisel rode her 16-year-old gray gelding Namgis D 33 in the first round turning in a 16.47. For Round Two, Beisel jockeyed the 10-year-old brown mare “Liza” to the round win with a 16.39. Beisel picked up a total of $5,000 and will advance to the FWSSR Semifinals.

Also advancing to the Semifinals from Bracket One is WPRA All-Time Money-Earner Lisa Lockhart.

Hayle Gibson-Stillwell Sweeps Bracket Two

FORT WORTH, TEXAS (January 25, 2026) — Bracket Two of the FWSSR kicked off January 25 while much of the state of Texas remains under winter weather alerts. Hayle Gibson-Stillwell of Redcrest, California, made her debut appearance at the Wrangler NFR in 2025. She finished fourth in the WPRA world standings with $328,640 in 2025 season earnings. In the first round of Bracket Two at the FWSSR Gibson-Stillwell and her NFR round winner Buncha Dinero won Bracket Two Round One with a time of  16.43.

Buncha Dinero is by PC Frenchmans Hayday, out of Rambunchkie (TB), by Bellamy Road (TB). The mare has helped Gibson-Stillwell earn more than $716,300 in EquiStat reported lifetime earnings. The 2019 palomino mare picked up more than $178,000 at the 2025 Wrangler NFR, finishing sixth in the aggregate. Now, only a month after their debut showing at the NFR they are using that momentum to get early earnings on the books for the 2026 season.

FORT WORTH, TEXAS (January 26, 2026) — In Bracket Two Round Two, Gibson-Stillwell and Buncha Dinero picked up another first-place paycheck from a time of 16.11. Gibson-Stillwell advanced to the Semifinals along with Tricia Aldridge. Andrea Busby earned a spot in the Wildcard Round.

Shelley Morgan Tops Bracket Three Round One

FORT WORTH, TEXAS (January 27, 2026) — Shelley Morgan and Bucky Wonder Horse topped Bracket Three Round One of the FWSSR. Morgan, a multiple time NFR qualifier and the 2017 buckskin mare by First Down Dash out of Rosas Cantina CC by Corona Cartel, topped the round with a 16.41.

Bucky Wonder Horse aka “Bee” was bred by Alan Woodbury and owned by John Jacobi. The mare has earned more than $99,000 in EquiStat reported lifetime earnings — including helping Morgan qualify for an NFR qualification. Morgan has earned more than $1.3 million in EquiStat lifetime earnings.

McKenna Coronado Tops Bracket Three Round Two

FORT WORTH, TEXAS (January 28, 2026) — McKenna Coronado and KT Shine Down topped Bracket Three Round Two of the FWSSR with a 16.29. Coronado picked up $2,500 for the performance and will advance to the semifinals along with Shelley Morgan.

Coronado finished the 2025 WPRA season in the No. 17 place in the world standings with $116,660 after a grueling season and final push for an NFR qualification. In 2026, she’s getting an early start on her WPRA standings.

KT Shine Down is a 2017 palomino gelding by First Down French out of RF Firefly, by Smoke N Sparks. The gelding was bred by Kelli Lynn Thouvenell and has earned more than $110,800 in EquiStat reported lifetime earnings — between both Coronado and Thouvenell as riders.

Carlee Otero Tops Bracket Four Round One

FORT WORTH, TEXAS (January 29, 2026) — Carlee Otero and Blingolena topped Bracket Four Round One of the FWSSR with a time of 16.26. Bracket Four will continue Friday, January 30, with the second round of the bracket.

Otero, a multiple time NFR qualifier has earned more than $1.7 million in EquiSat reported lifetime earnings including previous success at the FWSSR. In 2025, Otero and Blingolena topped Bracket Three of the FWSSR, continued to the Semifinals where they finished second. This year, the Lipan, Texas, cowgirl and her more than $560,000 EquiStat earning mount kicked off their bracket in stellar fashion picking up $2,500.

Blingolena is a 2018 gelding by Blazin Jetolena out of Dash Of Bling, by Dash Ta Fame, and has helped Otero qualify for the NFR among other successes. Blingolena aka “Sly” the Busby Quarter Horses-bred gelding was out of injury in 2025 after winning $10,117 very early. Sly was injured outside of competition and required surgery that kept him out of competition for all of 2025. Successfully recovered and back to winning form Sly and Otero are starting the 2026 season out strong.

Carlee Otero and Cathys Kandy Win Bracket Four Round Two; Ties Arena Record

FORT WORTH, TEXAS (January 30, 2026) — Carlee Otero and Cathys Kandy topped Bracket Four Round Two of the FWSSR tying the Dickies Arena FWSSR arena record with a time of 16.08. The FWSSR arena record was first set by Wenda Johnson and Macgyver Moonflash in 2022. Now, Otero and “Twix” share that record. 

Otero started her time in the bracket portion of the tournament-style rodeo aboard Blingolena winning the first round of Bracket Four on Thursday, January 29. She made her back-to-back run the following day aboard the 2018 buckskin mare Cathys Kandy aka “Twix,” who’s by The Kandyman out of Frenchmans Perkette, by Frenchmans Guy.

Hailey Kinsel Sweeps Bracket Five

FORT WORTH, TEXAS (January 30, 2026) — Hailey Kinsel and DM Sissy Hayday topped Bracket Five Round One of the FWSSR with a 16.56. Kinsel and her more than $3.5 million earning mare and four-time world champion have already won the FWSSR twice thus far in their career. They kicked off the 2026 event in Bracket Five Round One with a round-winning run.

Kinsel and “Sister” have become legends in the barrel racing industry in their young careers, and after coming onto the scene in stellar fashion in 2017 winning The American Rodeo worth $433,333 the pair have spent nearly a decade wracking up earnings and earning nearly every major title in the rodeo world.

The duo will make their second bid for the FWSSR semifinals qualification in Bracket Five Round Two, which will be held at the Saturday morning matinee performance on January 31.

FORT WORTH, TEXAS (January 31, 2026) — Hailey Kinsel and DM Sissy Hayday took the top spot of Bracket Five Round Two to sweep the bracket, collect $5,000 and advance to the FWSSR Semifinals. Kinsel and “Sister” turned in a 16.49 in the second round of their bracket calming the top spot.

Michelle Alley Tops Bracket Six Round One

FORT WORTH, TEXAS (January 31, 2026) — Michelle Alley and 2020 mare Lipstick N Stilletos (RR Mistakelly x Seis Caress x Tres Seis) topped Bracket Six Round One of the FWSSR with a time of 16.51.

From setting Pink and Ruby Buckle standard pattern records in the Lazy E Arena to a successful rodeo season placing at rodeos like Cheyenne Frontier Days, Caldwell Night Rodeo and Ellensburg Rodeo, “Stileto” has proven successful in all areas of the barrel racing industry.

Alley and Stiletto picked up $2,500 for the Bracket Six Round One win and will continue on February 1 in the second round of Bracket Six for their chance to advance to the FWSSR semifinals.

Paige Jones Wins Bracket Six Round Two

FORT WORTH, TEXAS (February 1, 2026) — Paige Jones and Famous Hayday aka “Bazinga” topped Bracket Six Round Two with a time of 16.27. The duo from Wayne, Oklahoma, started Bracket Six strong with a time of 16.62, which finished second. Then, they followed that in the second round with the fastest time of the night. With $4,400 earned in Bracket Six they will advance other the Semifinals of the FWSSR.

Bazinga is by multiple Women’s Professional Rodeo Association world champion sire PC Frenchmans Hayday and out of out of Jaxsons Olympic Fame, the late Dale Youree’s last futurity money earner by the Dash Ta Fame son Poco Lijerito. Bazinga is a 2012 bay gelding bred by Youree-Ward Barrel Horses. He’s helped Jones earn more than $526,000 of her $1 million EquiStat earnings.

The final bracket in the FWSSR ProRodeo Tournament starts on Monday evening at 7:30. Bracket Seven will be completed on Tuesday when the rest of the slate of Semifinals and Wildcard competitors will be decided.

Kassie Mowry Sweeps Bracket Seven

FORT WORTH, TEXAS (February 3, 2026) — Reigning world champion Kassie Mowry and her 2024 WPRA world champion mount Force The Goodbye swept Bracket Seven at the FWSSR.

In Round One they turned in a 16.16 followed by a 16.19 in Round Two to completely sweep their bracket and advance to the semifinals.

Force The Goodbye aka “Jarvis” won hearts during their first world title run at the 2024 NFR, but fans of barrel racing knew his talents long before his world champions status. Mowry and her late fiancé Michael Boone purchased Jarvis as a weanling from his breeder. He has gone on to win more than $1.8 million in EquiStat reported earnings.

Katelyn Scott and Justa DTF Frenchman Win Wild Card

FORT WORTH, TEXAS (February 4, 2026) — Katelyn Scott and Justa DTF Frenchman won the Wild Card Round at the FWSSR with a 16.22. Scott earned her berth to the Wild Card after finishing second in Bracket Three Round Two. Although the Odessa, Texas, cowgirl did not advance to the semifinals from that bracket she made up for it in the Wild Card by winning the round and earning her place in the FWSSR semifinals.

Justa DTF Frenchman (“Peanut Seed”) was purchased by Scott’s sister Lorissa Merritt at the start of the summer run after Streak N Liza (“Twiz”) came up sore. Merritt purchased Peanut from Jessica Anderson, who won pro rodeos and many amateur rodeos with the family-raised gelding. Peanut is a 2015 gelding by Aint Seen Nothin Yet out of Madeline Spade 410 by Justa Hickory Spade.

Acey Pinkston Tops Semifinals A

FORT WORTH, TEXAS (February 5, 2026) — Acey Pinkston and Streakinfrenchbullet topped the first section of the FWSSR Semifinals. “Bullet” is a 2013 brown gelding by French Streaktovegas out of Lonesome Buck Bar by Sunnys Buck Bar and has helped Pinkston earn more than $99,000 of Pinkston’s more than $210,000 in EquiStat lifetime earnings.

Pinkston has been busy this week at the FWSSR. Pinkston won the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association title last summer competing for Southwest Texas Junior College. She has since transferred to Weatherford College and qualified for the finals of the College Rodeo held in Will Rogers Coliseum February 4. That rodeo began at 6:30 p.m. and as soon as she finished in Will Rogers, she rushed across the stock show grounds to Dickies Arena to compete in the Wild Card Round which began an hour later. She finished second and advanced to the Semifinals. Pinkston and Bullet clocked a 16.30-second run to win Semifinals A and advance to Championship Saturday.

The top four from each Semifinals section advances to the Finals on Saturday, February 7. From the first section Pinkston will advance along with Tayla Moeykens, Makenna Shook and Kassie Mowry. Mowry and Tricia Aldridge tied for fourth in the Semifinals with a 16.50, but Mowry advanced through the tie-breaker having won more money in the brackets.

Hailey Kinsel Tops Semifinals B

FORT WORTH, TEXAS (February 6, 2026) — Hailey Kinsel and DM Sissy Hayday topped the second section of Semifinals contestants at the FWSSR.

It’s been a few years since four-time world champion Kinsel has won a FWSSR championship. She won the rodeo in Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum in 2019 and then earned another title the next year after it moved to Dickies Arena. 

She and her great mare by PC Frenchmans Hayday out of Royal Sissy Irish by Royal Shake Em, “Sister”, are at it again. Kinsel was the final barrel racer to compete and stopped the clock in 16.26 seconds for the win. She will now be after title No. 3 on Saturday night. 

Saturday night’s final round will feature eight qualifiers in each event from the two Semifinals. Rodeo action starts at 7:30 p.m., where rodeo athletes will earn championship buckles and big checks.

Kassie Mowry and Force The Goodbye Win FWSSR; Set Arena Record

FORT WORTH, TEXAS (February 7, 2026) — Kassie Mowry and Force The Goodbye set the Fort Worth Stock Show Rodeo arena record en route to the 2026 FWSSR barrel racing championship. 

The FWSSR kicked off January 23 inside Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, with the ProRodeo Tournament where the barrel racers of the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association battled it out for championship honors setting the arena record twice before the tournament-style rodeo came to its conclusion. It was two-time and reigning WPRA world champions Mowry and Force The Goodbye who brought the rodeo to its close in record fashion.

Mowry and “Jarvis” were the second-to-last duo to run down the alley way during Saturday’s shootout championship. They brought the sold-out crowd to its feet as they crossed the timer’s line in 16.04 seconds, setting the FWSSR arena record and winning the 2026 championship.

The previous record of 16.08 seconds was set first by Wenda Johnson and Macgyver Moonflash in 2022 and then matched earlier in this year’s competition by Carlee Otero and Cathys Kandy. Now, Mowry and Jarvis own the title. 

Mowry, who lives in Dublin, Texas, earned $25,500 for her efforts throughout the entire tournament-style rodeo with $20,000 of that from the Championship run. This marked Mowry’s first Fort Worth championship and comes after she defended her WPRA world championship.
