The $25,000-added futurity for horses 5-years-old and younger will be held in conjunction with the $100,000 Guaranteed Elite Extravaganza and 2nd Annual JB Quarter Horses Creating Legends Sale, Nov. 11-14 at the Heart O’ Texas Coliseum in Waco, Texas. Last year’s debut futurity drew 129 entries and paid $70,921.

The futurity will have $20,000 added with two incentives—one for 4-year-old horses and another for amateur riders—with $2,500 added to each. The entry fee for the futurity is $350 with an 80 percent payback. The incentive entry fee is $100 each with a 100 percent payback.

All contestants will make their qualifying run on Thursday, Nov. 11. The top 50 percent from the qualifying round will run for 60 percent of the purse in the clean-slate Championship Round on Saturday, Nov. 13. The bottom 50 percent, which will include those with hit barrels and no times, will compete on Friday, Nov. 12, in the clean-slate Consolation Round for 40 percent of the purse.

Incentives will be paid out based on the qualifying run.

JB Quarter Horses will proudly distribute its inaugural $10,000 bonus to the highest placing futurity colts sired by a JB Quarter Horses stallion at the 2nd Annual JB Quarter Horses Futurity, as well. Distribution of the bonus will be determined by times from the futurity qualifying round. The fastest horse will receive $5,000, with $3,000 going to second and $2,000 for third.

Only horses sired by JB Quarter Horses-owned stallions are eligible. This year futurity eligible colts by Two Timen Fuel, Dallas Fuel and One Hot Jose will run for the bonus. In 2011, colts by Chasin Firewater and Hot Corona will be eligible for the $10,000 bonus as they reach competition age.

JB Quarter Horses has also awarded three additional $500 bonuses during the 2010 futurity season. The first $500 bonus went to Nicks Fun Fuel, a Two Timen Fuel gelding ridden by Pete Oen for the Go Racing Partnership, who was the highest placing colt by the JB Quarter Horses stallion in the BFA Juvenile Futurity. Mr JB 061, another son of Two Timen Fuel ridden by Kassie Mowry for Holly Favor, collected two $500 bonuses—one for being the highest placing at the Wrap N 3 Futurity and the second for being the highest placing at the Old Fort Days Futurity.
