The $5,000 equestrian leadership scholarship offered by Stephens College will provide an outstanding incoming freshman female who is also a PtHA Youth member an opportunity to obtain an equestrian-based liberal arts education while pursuing a degree in Equestrian studies.

Located in Columbia, Mo., Stephens College has been educating women since 1833 and offers students a thorough liberal arts background with strong preparation for careers in the equine world.

Pinto Youth members who are interested in applying for the Stephens scholarship can fill out the application online at pinto.org and return it to PtHA. Potential recipients will then apply to the Stephens equestrian program, in addition to applying for admissions to Stephens College. The applications will be evaluated on the best fit for the program. Program leaders will be looking for applicants with a passion for all things horse related—academically-oriented students that are interested in all phases of growth and development, community minded, solid work ethic and a desire to explore a profession in the equine industry.

To be considered for the 2011-2012 academic year, interested applicants must apply for the Stephens College scholarship by Feb. 25. For more information and how to apply for this scholarship opportunity, contact the Pinto Horse Association of America, Inc., at (405) 491-0111 or e-mail [email protected]. Applications must come through PtHA in order to be eligible.
