Rural Media Group President and CEO Randy Bernard shared in the excitement about the world’s richest one-day rodeo, which pays out $2 million, by joining “Road to THE AMERICAN” host Justin McKee in a special live show.
“When you look back on THE AMERICAN, it did everything we anticipated it would do. First, bring tremendous credibility for RFD-TV, bring great awareness for the cowboys and build exposure for the sport. And the last goal we had to engage from youth to elderly, to bring them back into the sport and captivate them. And I really believe that we were really able to hit on all cylinders and it was so much fun to see us pull it off,” said Bernard.
Tie-down roper Tyson Durfy and other special guests also made an appearance. 
“This is something that everybody wants to be a part of. And it’s good reason. When you can go and win $100,000 in one day rodeoing, that’s an opportunity that really doesn’t present itself all the time. So for all you young guys watching right now, get your butt in the practice pen, get good and come and win a million bucks,” said Durfey.
“So much of what goes on in competition is what goes on in rural America. It’s physical, it’s the base. It’s sound. It’s courage. It’s being tough, getting back up. All of those things are a big plus to think we can do this AMERICAN Rodeo thing and build this American Rodeo thing and evolve it into something that will really be a statement about what rural America is, is a real, real privilege to be on the team,” said Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones in an interview over the phone.
Tickets for THE AMERICAN will go on sale June 2.
