The event, which will take place in conjunction with the three-day Western States Horse Expo in Sacramento, Calif., will include dinner, a silent auction, wine tasting, live music by Buck Ford and his Pure Country Band, and a public raffle with grand prizes of $5,000 cash or a four-stall barn.

Several notable California vineyards are participating with horse themed wine tastings, including 14 Hands, Leaping Horse by Ironstone Vineyards, Horse and Plow, Wild Horse Winery, Parallel Rows by The Blue Horse and Cattle Company, Dark Horse Winery, Flying Horse Wines, Redneck Red by Lassen Peak Winery and Trefethen Family Vineyards, among others.

Excessorized, the great-great granddaughter of Secretariat, is a recent success story of Safe Haven Horse Rescue after being sold off the track last year and left to starve. She was seized by Contra Costa Animal Control, and Safe Haven Horse Rescue was chosen as her new home because of their love, compassion and knowledge in rehabilitating abused and neglected horses.

Excessorized will be available to meet media and horse lovers at the Western States Horse Expo at barns by Harrahs Pavilion.

Tickets are $65 and may be reserved online at safehavenhorserescue.org or by calling (530) 347-4941.
