rideMore than 1,500 trail riders in 62 rides across the United States mounted up to show their support, raising $50,000 for neglected horses, and in the process, broke a Guinness World Record for the largest peacetime trail ride.

The ride was a sneak peak at the future site of the Texas Horse Park, set for completion in 2012. The Park, located minutes from downtown Dallas, will be a multi-disciplinary facility designed for local, regional and international use. Located next to the flagship Trinity River Audubon Center, the world-class equestrian facility will offer trail riding, competition and show events, equestrian environmental learning tours, therapeutic riding programs, outreach and community activities and riding lessons through the School of Horsemanship.

The 600-acre site is part of the city of Dallas’ Trinity River Corridor Project and adjoins the 6,000-acre Great Trinity Forest, the nation’s largest urban hardwood forest. For more information, visit TexasHorsePark.com.
