EquiStat presents a statistical look at the top 30 leading barrel racing sires of the past five years. 

These stallions have proven their worth as sires of barrel racing offspring with more than $300 million earned in the past five years. Here, you’ll find the top 30 5-Year Leading Sires. This information, was curated exclusively by EquiStat to help breeders make decisions based on the current landscape of the barrel racing industry. These earnings are from January 1, 2020 to August 31, 2025.

1. Dash Ta Fame

Dash Ta Fame is the leading sire of barrel horses of the past five years. His leading offspring is Jordon Briggs’ Women’s Professional Rodeo Association world champion gelding Famous Lil Jet  leading the charge with $1.2 million. His second highest-earning offspring was Kassie Mowry’s Famous Ladies Man with $569,101, followed by Stevi Hillman’s National Finals Rodeo qualifier and American Rodeo champion Cuatro Fame with $418,550. Dash Ta Fame had 894 performing offspring earning more than $13.1 million.

2. The Goodbye Lane

The No. 2 leading sire of barrel horses is The Goodbye Lane, thanks in large part to Mowry’s WPRA world champion Force The Goodbye who earned more than $1.8 million in the past five years. The help of standout futurity horse and The American Rodeo champion MJ Segers Fast Lane contributed to The Goodbye Lane’s status. MJ Segers Fast Lane is the sire’s second highest earner with $1.5 million, in large part thanks to The American Rodeo win with Brandon Cullins. The Goodbye Lane had 316 performing offspring earning more than $13 million in the past five years.

3. Slick By Design

The late Slick By Design holds the No. 3 position with his leading offspring being Slicks Lil Amigo with $358,276. The NFR qualifying stallion had 556 total performing offspring earning more than $8.8 million in the past five years. Slicks Lil Amigo, owned by Sabra O’Quinn, has been with O’Quinn since he was a 3-year-old training him for longtime friends Deanna Mixon-Pietsch before purchasing him herself in 2021. Slick By Design’s second highest earning performer was Fiesta By Design who was raised and trained by Ashley along with her husband Seth Schafer. Ashley and “Mitch” won the 2024 Pink Buckle Futurity and also finished third in the Open 1D average.
