The 2025 NFR Open held at the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo in Colorado Springs, Colorado, features more than $683,000 in added money making it a must stop on the summer run held July 8-12.
The NFR Open, held with the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo is a tournament-style rodeo that was previously the RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo. Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and Women’s Professional Rodeo Association champions from the U.S. and Canadian Circuits, plus national champs from Mexico meet in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to battle for more than $1 million. The tournament-style NFR Open determines the national circuit champions in each event. All 26 qualifiers from 13 circuits, plus Mexico, compete in two preliminary rounds of the rodeo. Each contestant is placed in a one of three Pool and competes twice. The top three from each pool advance to the clean-slate Championship Round, where the NFR Open champion will be crowned.
Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi Wins NFR Open
Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi kicked off the NFR Open held during the Pikes Peak Or Bust Rodeo aboard Australian-bred Cashin In Fame (Seconds Ta Fame x Savas Miss Kayotoe x Sava Dee) winning both rounds of Bracket Two with times of 17.14 and 17.06 picking up $6,000. For the short round, the three-time Women’s Professional Rodeo Association world champion stepped aboard Sir Epic, the 2018 gray gelding owned by Pete Carr and Morgan Bagnell and bred by Karma Loftin. Tonozzi and “Sir” turned in a 16.98 in the short round to earn the NFR Open championship and $13,000.
With reigning world champion Kassie Mowry at the reins, Sir earned more than $282,700 in EquiStat reported earnings in his juvenile and futurities years. Tonozzi took over the reins in 2024 and together the two have earned more than $146,000 together. Sir Epic (JL Sirocco x So Very Epic x Epic Leader) has more than $432,981 in EquiStat reported lifetime earnings.

Bracket Competition
Emily Beisel and Teasin Dat Guy turned in a 17.17, worth $3,000 for the Bracket One, Round One win at the NFR Open at the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo. Beisel added “Chewy” to her arsenal in the spring of 2024 prior to Beisel’s sixth National Finals Rodeo qualification. Beisel already had a solid team with Namgis D 33 (“Chongo”) and Ivory On Fire (“Liza”), but Chewy added even more talent to her lineup. Chewy got her start with Molly Otto having already made an NFR appearance prior to Beisel taking over the reins. Bred by Katie Lindhal, Chewy earned $411,433 with Otto at the reins, including $54,908 in NFR earnings with Otto in 2021. Chewy and Beisel then picked up earnings at the 2024 NFR, and all totaled in their efforts have earned more than $93,900 together not including 2025 pro rodeo earnings.
Beisel has had success in the circuit system of the WPRA many times. She’s qualified for the RAM National Circuit Finals/NFR Open seven times including 2025, and won the RNCFR in 2017.

Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi swept Bracket Two at the NFR Open held during the Pikes Peak Or Bust Rodeo aboard Australian-bred Cashin In Fame (Seconds Ta Fame x Savas Miss Kayotoe x Sava Dee) winning both rounds of Bracket Two with times of 17.14 and 17.06 picking up $6,000.
Lisa Lockhart and Rosas Cantina CC took the win in the first round of Bracket Three at the NFR Open turning in a time of 17.35, worth $3,000. Lockhart went on to finish second in the second round of her bracket with a time of 17.30, for $2,250 and earn an advancement to the short round.
Tana Renick topped the second round of Bracket Three with a time of 17.28, worth $3,000. Renick also finished second in the first round with a 17.36 for $2,250 and an advancement to the short round.
