Barrel Bash Chickasha

Jada Haken and her homebred, -raised and -trained mare Flirtbug swept the Barrel Bash Chickasha Select Stallion Stakes Breeders Futurity, giving Haken her first career futurity win.

The Select Stallion Stakes Breeders Futurity and Barrel Bash in Chickasha, Oklahoma, is always a popular event for futurity competitors at the end of March. With $60,000 added in the Futurity for Select Stallion Stakes-enrolled horses, 123 competitors vied for championship honors at the Grady County Fairgrounds. Grad student Jada Haken emerged on top of them all, sweeping both rounds and the average against the top trainers in the business aboard homebred, -raised and -trained mare Flirtbug to win more than $22,000 on the weekend.

Jada Haken won both rounds and the average of the Select Stallion Stakes Breeders Futurity aboard her homebred, -raised and -trained 2020 mare Flirtbug. The 24-year-old graduate student won more than $22,000 at the show. Times of 15.088 and 15.116 topped the first and second rounds for two paychecks of $6,925, while their winning average of 30.204 paid $8,772.
