Famous Lil Jet and Jordon Briggs posted the fastest time of the weekend and won the American Contender Qualifier in Glen Rose.
The $15,500 added Better Barrel Races Southern Territorial held October 4-6 in Glen Rose, Texas is an Open 5D race that boasted an American Rodeo Contender Qualifier as well as a Hooey Junior Patriot Qualifier. Available sidepots included the BBR Xtra Series, Big Spender, Futurity, Youth, Adult and Senior. With options for contestants of all ages and skill levels, the Southern Territorial drew almost identical numbers as the previous year; and was another smooth production for the BBR team.

Tolar, Texas cowgirl Jordon Briggs did not have to travel far to make a very productive run. The 2021 WPRA World Champion Barrel Racer and 4-time National Finals Rodeo qualifier made the 20-minute trek to Glen Rose with her rockstar gelding “Rollo” to lay down a smoking run of 14.740 on Saturday. It would stand as the fastest clean run of the weekend, earning a total of $3,077. First place in the American Contender Qualifier paid $1,250 while first place in the Open on Saturday paid $1,827. With the win, Briggs and Rollo will advance to the Central Region Semifinals in the American Contender Tournament.
