Sanctuary Barrel Races High Cascades Futurity and Benefit

Sanctuary Barrel Races continues tradition of supporting rural families in times of need, plus offering big payouts and prizes for barrel racers at its annual High Cascades Futurity and Benefit.

Sanctuary Barrel Races hosted its first benefit barrel race in 2017 after founder Garan Buller created the organization as a ministry-based program to help create emergency relief funds for rural families during times of need. Now under the ownership and production of Jessica McMahon of Fast Cash Barrel Horses, the 2025 High Cascades Futurity and Benefit paid out over $242,600, with Jordan Bailey-Deck emerging as the highest-money earner with over $22,000 earned on the weekend.

The event proudly signed checks for 191 riders, with the top 24 checks worth more than $2,500 and the top 10 for over $5,000. Prizes included championship saddles, scooters, Burns Custom Hats, as well as bits, tack, tire certificates and many more. The race’s Calcutta raised more than $10,000 for the Rosebrook family, as Jason Rosebrook bravely battled cancer and sadly passed April 23.

High Cascades Futurity and Benefit highest-money rider Jordan Bailey banked more than $22,000 from the event aboard the race’s highest-money horse Ima Girl Fame, who was responsible for $17,735 of Bailey’s total. The homebred, -raised and -trained mare won both rounds of the Derby and Open 1D, clinching both the Derby and Open 1D averages. They ran times of 15.372 in the first round and 15.204 in the second round for a winning average of 30.576, worth $1,523 in the Derby and $1,449 in the Open. Photo by Riann Cornett Photography.
