Castleberry is Consistent: 2024 Puyallup CINCH Playoffs  

Ashley Castleberry and Skyy Blue keep it consistent after four runs to win the Puyallup CINCH Playoffs and secure their spot at the Governor’s Cup. 

Puyallup, Washington was the place to be September 5-8, as 24 girls battled for a spot at the Governor’s Cup CINCH Playoff Series Championships in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. As the field narrowed after each performance, four barrel racers came out on top and confirmed their place at the $1,133,330-added rodeo to be held September 26-28. 

Ashley Castleberry, Halyn Lide, Chelsea Moore and Shelley Morgan finished fast in the semifinals to advance to Sioux Falls later this month and win a check in the Puyallup finals. The race continues as the top eight ladies in CINCH Playoff standings will join them in South Dakota after the tour rodeos conclude with the Pendleton Round-Up, New Mexico State Fair and Rodeo and West Texas Fair and Rodeo. 

Castleberry and 2013 gelding, Skyy Blue (Stoli x Sweeten My Dreams x Runaway Rebel) took home the win from Puyallup Rodeo. They placed fourth in the first performance of Playoff 1, running a 14.33 worth $863. They came back in the second performance to run a 14.42 which helped secure second in the average with a 28.75 on two runs and advancement to the semifinals. A 14.52 in the semifinals on Sunday afternoon placed fourth, securing a spot in the finals where the pair ran their fastest time of the rodeo, 14.21 winning $13,000.
