At just 17 years old, Rainey Skelton is already following in her dad Rich Skelton’s footsteps. The daughter of eight-time Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association World Champion Heeler rose to the challenge among tough competition at the Women’s Rodeo World Championships in Las Vegas from October 26–29, riding her 7-year-old mare Fame And Jewels (Dash Ta Fame x Tattletail Lilly x The Informant) to a fast 15.229 for a grand total of $60,000.
“That mare is just amazing. We raised her, I had her mom and her grandma, so it’s amazing,” Rainey said through tears in her post-run interview on TV. “It’s just a competition; these ladies, I look up to every single one of them. It’s a blessing and an honor to be able to compete with them.”

Coming in a close second with a 15.265, Stephanie Fryar earned $20,000 for her efforts on Some Streakin French (Frenchmans Fabulous x Some Streakin Chick x Some Dasher).
In the breakaway roping, Madison Outhier and her legendary horse Allo Gallo Colonel (Gallo Del Cielo x Colonel C Hermosa x Colonel Clout) stopped the clock in 1.91 seconds to win a $60,000 paycheck and her second WRWC title.
Team roping champions Lari Dee Guy and Jimmi Jo Montera won $60,000 each for a 5.95-second run.
