It takes a myriad of individuals to keep the barrel racing industry successful. More than just the horses keep the industry flourishing, and it takes each individual — no matter how large or small their role. Owners, breeders and trainers are the most commonly thought-of group, but we’re dedicating this issue to those professionals serving day-in and day-out to keep the industry growing. From tack makers to barrel race producers, we’re highlighting the people behind the scenes who are integral to the barrel racing world.

In our Equine Professionals Issue, don’t miss Abigail Boatwright’s look at the business side of barrel racing and what it takes to produce largescale events in “A Big Production” on page 30. Then, BHN features five gear makers who create well-researched and well-made products in Kate Bradley Byars’ “Craftsmen of Barrel Racing” on page 38.

Plus, the premier futurity event of the season is right around the corner with the Barrel Futurities of America World Championships taking place at the Lazy E Arena this November. In this month’s issue, you’ll find an exclusive look at the BFA Top 15 EquiStat All-Time Leaders beginning on page 26. While futurity trainers are making bids for championship honors in Guthrie, Oklahoma, this November use the BFA Top 15 EquiStat leaders charts to explore the event’s leading horses, riders, owners, breeders, sires and dams over the course of the event’s history.

While we’re dedicating this issue to professionals in the industry, we’re also bringing out a dose of holiday spirit. We’ve gathered a Christmas Gift Guide beginning on page 46 from Barrel Horse News select advertisers to get you started on the season’s gift-giving.

As always, we bring you highlights from the biggest events of the season, such as the Breeders Challenge Championship Finale, OKC Shootout, The Mega and an Expanded Futurity Roundup with the northwest’s biggest futurities.

We hope you enjoy this issue. Be sure to stay up-to-date online at barrelhorsenews.com as BHN staff bring you the latest news, entertainment and training tips in the industry.

Until next time, stay safe.
