2026 Hondo Rodeo New Orleans

The Hondo Rodeo Fest started in 2024 and aims to celebrate the spirit of the West by bringing together the best in rodeo and music in a fun-filled weekend of Western sports and live entertainment. In an invite-only format, top professional rodeo athletes have the opportunity to compete in major sports stadiums where rodeo is not the typical event.

After the rodeo, concerts featuring some of the music industry’s biggest stars take center stage including Cody Johnson, Creed, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jason Aldean, Bailey Zimmerman and Old Dominion.

2025 Women’s Professional Rodeo Association Rookie of the Year Makenzie Mayes and her great mare Chicado Moon (Guys Canyon Moon x Chicados Bully x Chicados Cash) set the New Orleans, Louisiana Superdome on fire April 10-12 after winning the first two rounds, placing second in the third round and claiming the average title. Mayes was the top earning contestant in the rodeo with $31,500 in event earnings, just $7,500 ahead of saddle bronc rider Sage Newman, to win the Maverick award and leave New Orleans with $101,500 total.

*This is not a Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association/WPRA rodeo and therefore these earnings do not count towards WPRA world standings.
