The American Rodeo kicks off with the Contender Tournament Finals on April 11, where the top 5 contenders from each region semifinals compete for a chance to advance one step closer to $1 Million. The Round of 10 takes place April 12, where the top 5 contenders and top 5 in the 2024 Women’s Professional Rodeo Association world standings go head to head for a chance to advance to The American Rodeo Championship.

April 12, (ARLINGTON, TEXAS) — The all-time leading barrel racer and reigning world champion Kassie Mowry earns her first The American Barrel Racing Championship and the $100,000 check aboard world champion horse Force The Goodbye. A record breaking run is nothing new for the dynamic duo who continue to rise to the occasion in the arena. Her 15.055 claimed the new arena record inside Globe Life Field and won the championship round, last on the drag.
Mowry is no rookie to The American Rodeo, first qualifying in 2018 on Girls Dig Fame. She was back inside AT&T Stadium on Epic Guy in 2020, where they finished fourth in the finals. In 2021 she qualified on both CP He Will Be Epic and Epic Guy. Her first year competing as an invitee was 2024, where she ran Famous Ladies Man. She finally won the title this year on her incredible mount “Jarvis.”
“Everything I throw at this horse, he just knocks it out of the park,” Mowry said after her record breaking run in the finals. “I’m just so excited to have him.”

April 12, 2025 (ARLINGTON, TEXAS) — Dusky Hall and Aint Seen Famous Yet put on a show during the Round of 10 inside Globe Life Field, besting 2024 World Champion Kassie Mowry and four-time World Champion Hailey Kinsel with a 15.133. With more than $1 Million in EquiStat lifetime earnings, the 11-year-old cowgirl is on her way to doubling that as she advances to the championship round.
“We were last in the drag,” Hall said. “It’s deep. He (Wally) doesn’t like rodeos, he gets nervous. We ran a .3 last night and barely made it back. Amelia (McCumber) got on him this morning and she has helped me tremendously.”
Joining her is fellow contender Taycie Matthews and Fame Fire Rocks who slid into the No. 2 spot with a 15.140. Kinsel also advances to the championships with her 15.184 and Mowry with her 15.240.

April 11, 2025 (ARLINGTON, TEXAS) — Fifteen barrel racers competed in the Contender Tournament Finals held at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas on April 11 to kick off The American Rodeo weekend. Four-time world champion Sherry Cervi and her mare MP Meter My Fame set the pace with a 15.280 to keep the Contender Tournament Finals lead through all 15 runs. “Principessa” is out of Cervi’s standout mare MP Meter My Hay aka “Stingray.” She claims $15,000 and a spot in the the Round of 10 on April 12. Cervi’s husband, Cory Petska joins her in Saturday’s performance after placing fourth in the team roping with partner Chad Masters.
The top 5 contenders advance to compete alongside the top 5 in the 2024 WPRA World Standings (Kassie Mowry, Hailey Kinsel, Andrea Busby, Ashley Castleberry, Emily Beisel) on April 12 in the Round of 10.
