Better Barrel Races sanctions The American Rodeo barrel racing starting with qualifiers which run from March 2025 through March 15, 2026. Each regional semi-finals features a maximum of 125 athletes competing in the barrel racing in each region (East, Central, West).
The regional semi-finals format is two go-rounds and an aggregate. The top 10 in the aggregate advance to each regional finals. Non-advancing athletes may enter the Redemption Round for one last chance. The top 3 from the Redemption Round plus any American Rodeo Super Qualifier eligible qualifiers will advance to the Finals.
The Saturday night Finals features the top 10 barrel racers who advanced from the Regional Semi-Finals, plus three athletes who have earned a spot through the Redemption Round. The top 5 in the Regional Finals (15 total between East, Central and West) earn a trip to The American Rodeo Semi-Finals at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
The top five qualifier athletes from The American Rodeo Finals go head-to-head with the top 5 in the 2025 Women’s Professional Rodeo Association world standings (Kassie Mowry, Tricia Aldridge, Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi, Hayle Gibson-Stillwell, Carlee Otero) in The American Rodeo Showdown Round of 10. The top four from The American Rodeo Showdown Round advance to The American Rodeo Championship Round, all taking place May 22-23, 2026.
