All Eyes On Him: Tricia Aldridge Wins Round Four of the Wrangler NFR

LAS VEGAS — DECEMBER 7, 2025 — Another palomino show took place inside the Thomas and Mack Center during Round Four with 5-year-old stallion Adios Pantalones and first-time NFR qualifier Tricia Aldridge coming out on top, and palomino mare Buncha Dinero taking second place with Hayle Gibson-Stillwell on board.

“Adios” and Aldridge ran the fastest time of the rodeo thus far, a 13.42 and setting the new record for the fastest time of a stallion at the NFR. Slick By Design previously held the fastest time ran by a stallion with a 13.48 in Round Seven of the 2013 NFR, jockeyed by Michelle McLeod.

This round win also takes the Round Four record, previously a 13.43 ran by Kassie Mowry and Force The Goodbye in 2024. After consistently gaining momentum in each round, Aldridge and Adios have officially won $61,528 at the NFR.

“We’ve had to make some changes in the alley, so we put Tank [her alley help] on the other side today to kind of keep his hip off the gate because he’s wanted to do this little rollback thing,” Aldridge explained. “I try not to correct him because I know that he’s young and he’s inexperienced and he’s just trying to work through it right now and how he feels and where he needs to be. I tried to hold on to him a little bit longer and keep him slow. We slowed him down a little bit coming in to that first and he was set up perfect and hooked it. I remembered my leg left!”

There were no major shifts in the average standings, but with four clean runs, Aldridge and Adios stay in the No. 3 position, one run closer to a $95,000 check for the average win.

“He just feels amazing and strong and I’m thankful to my team and thankful to my vet, Dr. Don Lee who’s been here helping keep him 100%,” Aldridge added.

Aldridge has piloted the stallion to become the all-time leading futurity horse, the highest earning barrel racing stallion of all-time and qualified for their first NFR in his first year of pro rodeo completion as a first-year derby horse. Adios won $140,778 of Aldridge’s $141,182 in pro rodeo earnings in 2025, but neither are barrel racing rookies. Aldridge has amassed more than $1.2 million in EquiStat reported lifetime earnings, majority of that at aged events and Adios has more than $700,000 in lifetime earnings.

“He’s literally done everything for me and I’m just so thankful for the ride that he’s on,” Aldridge said. “I tell people a lot, I feel like this horse is able to bring a lot of people together and it’s his story and I’m just the way that he tells it. So I think there’s a lot more to come out of this story and where God tells me to go, that’s where we’re going.”

Aldridge has moved to No. 6 in the WPRA world standings after their Round Four win and three NFR checks, but hasn’t changed anything in the morning practices.

“When I came into practice I just trotted him through loose, circle him a couple times, I didn’t cruise him through,” she added. “I just want him to just stay loose, relaxed, calm. He’s funny because he’s actually more wound up in practice, he’s hair flipped me like 30 times, and then when I come in here down the alley, he just stands like a soldier.”

Andrea Busby wins her first check of the 2025 NFR aboard 2019 gelding Hanksnthefastlane (The Goodbye Lane x Sissy B Gold x Letta Hank Do It) after stopping the clock with a 13.82 to place sixth and collect $5,914. Photo by Kenneth Springer.

Two-time NFR qualifier and NFR average record holder Andrea Busby won her first check at this years NFR after placing sixth in the round with a time of 13.82 aboard NFR rookie Hanksnthefastlane (The Goodbye Lane x Sissy B Gold x Letta Hank Do It). “Goodbye” is a 2019 gelding bred by NFR qualifier Taylor Jacob and futuritied by Sarah Rose Waguespack, also an NFR qualifier, before finding his way to Busby.

Notable Horse Changes

Brittany Pozzi Tonozzi kicked off her 18th NFR aboard Pete Carr and Morgan Bagnell’s gray gelding Sir Epic (JL Sirocco x So Very Epic x Epic Leader) who won $103,719 for Tonozzi in the 2025 season. After a slip at the second barrel in Round Three, Tonozzi said “Sir” was ok, just body sore and would get the night off for Round Four. She stepped onto 2017 gelding JL Roc Lost A Sock, also a JL Sirocco son out of Thoroughbred mare Reddy To Rebound by NFR sire Red. “Mo” was a futurity standout trained by Mark Bugni before Tonozzi bought him from Presley Smith. Mo added his first NFR check worth $21,882 to his earnings, running a 13.68 to place third in the round. Tonozzi remains No. 3 in the world standings and No. 5 in the average standings.

First-year NFR qualifier Tayla Moeykens started the week on 2015 mare DDD Streakinfirewater (Firewater Dancer x Streak Dash x Pure D Dash) owned by Cindy Grainger. In Round Four she ran SCR Cats Merada Pep, a 2020 mare by Peptoes out of Cats Smoking Chic who’s a daughter of Cats Merada. “Winnie” is bred and owned by Ingram Quarter Horses and has been in Montana barrel racer Chalee Harms trailer prior to her NFR debut. They unfortunately hit a barrel.

Hailey Kinsel stepped off world champion DM Sissy Hayday after Round Three and ran 2014 mare BCK Spyder Monkey (The Goodbye Lane x Phoebes Myth x Phoebes Cartelin) in Round Four. Kinsel acquired the mare in 2023 from Kallie Wright. They ran a 13.99.
