December 10, 2019 — Las Vegas — Amberleigh Moore and CP Dark Moon have hit their stride inside the Thomas and Mack Center arena. The duo from Salem, Oregon, conquered Round Six with the fastest time of the 2019 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo barrel racing thus far with a 13.55. After two downed barrels in Round One, Moore and “Paige” have come back with a vengeance to move from No. 12 in the world standings coming into the NFR to second in the world after tonight’s round win.

“It felt simply amazing,” Moore said. “I was second out on the ground, so I knew I had to use that to my advantage, and Paige was in a mood tonight and I wasn’t sure what I was going to get tonight—if she was going to go in and give me her mood and short me or if she was going to go in and crank one out. Lucky for me, she went in there and cranked one out, so it felt amazing.”

While Moore moved into the No. 2 position in the world standings, she says doesn’t pay much attention to the results.

“After hitting [barrels] in the first go, it kind of took that pressure off and I’m just out there running one run at a time, one round at a time, and it doesn’t matter where the cards fall because Paige is doing what Paige loves to do,” Moore said.

With only four rounds left, the aggregate is becoming even more important for how the world standings will shake out representing a lucrative amount of money up for grabs. A total of $253,846.15 is guaranteed to be paid out in the aggregate, awarding the winner with $67,269.23. As of Round Six, the world championship will ultimately rely heavily on the aggregate payout. Currently, Emily Miller holds onto her lead in the aggregate with 83.01 on six runs.
