I love, LOVE t-shirts. In fact, half of my closet is concert tees, old basketball camp tees, vintage tees, baseball tees, tight tees, and sparkly studded tees. I don’t throw t-shirts away. Ever. (That may be a problem) It is amazing where the t-shirt came from, and how it has evolved. Starting as undershirts for the U.S. Navy and Union works in the late 1800s; to evolving into a pop-culture phenomenon and a medium to express personal style and company advertising. What started as the “poor man’s shirt” certainly doesn’t hold true today. Some t-shirts retail for as much as $150-$200! There is one thing for sure: the t-shirt is completely and 100% American. And now you can get t-shirts in anything your heart desires!
T-shirts are a great way to express your own style, or to make a statement without uttering a word. “Graphic tees are a great addition to any wardrobe,” says Cowgirl Justice Apparel designer Jamise Fisher. “They are fun worn with jeans and boots or stepped up a notch layered under a denim shirt paired with a chic boho skirt – a great way to express your personal style.”
As spring heats up into summer, tees are an easy way to change your look up from day to day. Western Lifestyle Retailer gives us amazing looks to dress your tees up with items you probably already have in your closet. The key to these looks is accessorizing with concho belts, fringe purses, and as always, lots of jewelry. Layer your favorite vintage tee with a leather vest, or kimono. Too warm too layer? Pair your graphic tank with a bright lipstick and printed shorts. Want to go bohemian? Tie up a t-shirt with a long maxi skirt and a floppy hat. Whatever style speaks to you, nothing is more attractive than rocking it with confidence:
