The Best in Gear

This month, Barrel Horse News celebrates its official 30th Anniversary — although we’ve been celebrating all year with the January special anniversary issue and profiles throughout each month on industry leaders and those who’ve been associated with BHN from the start May marks the official anniversary. We hope you enjoy Part Two of BHN’s history where we introduce staff past and present on page 22.

This month is also the special Tack and Equipment Issue, which explores the best practices and products in tack and gear for the barrel racer. The equipment we use is vital to our success, but more than that it’s important we are using the correct tools to communicate with our horses. The Tack and Equipment Issue has something for everyone. We’ve gathered a collection of some of barrel racers’ favorite tack and equipment products that make their horse life easier in “New and Notable” on page 26. This issue also dives into all the details surrounding some of our favorite “Bits of Success” from over the years on page 30.

Plus, beginning on page 36 Barrel Horse News advertisers showcase fun and functional tack and equipment products in the Special Tack and Equipment Guide.

Once you have your arena ground maintained, your facility in top shape, your tack polished and coordinated, and your horse tuned up it’s time to hit the road this season and we hope this issue gets you ready to do so. Spring is in full swing and from rodeos to jackpots the industry is buzzing, don’t miss your opportunity to hit the road and enjoy time with your horse.

As always, this issue brings you coverage from the biggest events of the season like the San Antonio Stock Show Rodeo, Rodeo Houston, Rodeo Austin, The Patriot, Elite Extravaganza, and the Dixie Classic-Konra Minniear Memorial race, all beginning on page 41.

We hope you enjoy this issue. Be sure to stay up-to-date online at www.barrelhorsenews.com as BHN staff bring you the latest news, entertainment and training tips in the industry.

Until next time, stay safe.
