San Antonio, Texas — February 16, 2020 — At the conclusion of Semifinal One on February 18, half the field for the final round of the San Antonio Stock Show Rodeo is now set. Women’s Professional Rodeo Association barrel racers Brittney Barnett, Carly Taylor, Kathy Grimes, Brooke Wills and Jimmie Smith can officially make plans to be back February 22 to run in the finals at AT&T Stadium. The remaining five will be determined from two rounds of Semifinal Two from February 19-20.

Kathy Grimes and her National Finals Rodeo mare KG Justiceweexpected (Judge Cash x Do It For Beau x Beaus Scoop Of Sun) topped Round One with a 14.05. Jimmie Smith and Lena On The Rocks (Firewaterontherocks x Tourlena x Smart Cash Cutter), who also own the fastest time of the rodeo so far at 13.84, came in second at 14.11.

The following night, Brooke Wills of Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada, set a fast pace in Round Two with a 13.94 aboard Ivy Conrado Saebens’ former back-up horse Fames To Blame (Lions Share Of Fame x SX Frenchmans Peach x Frenchmans Guy).

2019 Women’s Professional Rodeo Association Rookie of the Year Carly Taylor and her 2020 Denver Stock Show Rodeo champion mare Diva Deniro and Brittney Barnett and her Paint mare Chicks Keen O Pocopoo both placed consistently Semifinal One to earn their place in the final round among the top money earners.

Semifinal Two begins its first of two rounds of competition February 19 at 7 p.m. CST.
